Collecting tithes and offerings is critical for any church to sustain itself and continue to offer and expand their ministries. During slow economic times, many churches struggle just as many businesses struggle. However, churches need to maintain a steady stream of offering to continue to survive.

There are many different ways that you can read about on increasing the offerings for churches, regardless of size. I’m going to mention a simple and inexpensive way that will keep on working every Sunday. Use a bigger offering plate. As a matter of fact, don’t even use offering plates, use offering buckets. The larger sized bucket will make people think there is not much money in the bucket and they will feel obligated to pick up the slack and give more.

In addition, offering buckets are better suited for contemporary style worship services which are definitely the most rapid growing services in America. There’s no better way to attract young people into church these days than to have a rocking praise and worship band prepping the hearts of the congregation to hear the message from the pastor. You can have your church logo or cool, contemporary design printed on the offering buckets and the buckets come in many different colors such as White, Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, Silver, Cream, pearl gold, green, and orange.

Just as branding is important for a business, it is equally important for a church. After all, churches have more “competitors” than most businesses would ever have. It’s important to market your church and the ministries your church offers to as many people in the local community as possible. In the end, it all boils down to the simple fact that, the more money your church brings in with offering; the more ministry your church can do both locally and abroad.
